RESULTS OF AGRONOMIC TRIALS
With over 180 agronomic trials conducted on professional farms, ELICIR has been actively contributing to the improvement of the vegetable industry for several years. Our performance indicators are shared in collaboration with academic research.
Agronomic Parameters of Economic Interest" (PAIE) are at the heart of ELICIR's mission. Our approach is to work closely with growers to identify, crop by crop and market by market, the key factors influencing their profitability. In general, growers want to be in control of the timing: earlier in the year can mean a better price. A shorter crop cycle can mean more production (lettuce, radish, etc.). The grower will also want to maximize the number of flowers and limit fruit abortion (cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.) over as long a season as possible. Growers of root or tuber vegetables (beet, potatoes, carrots, turnips, etc.) will want them to be plentiful and full.
